Cambridge IGCSE 2025 & 2026: What Parents & Students Need to Know

As we support students preparing for Cambridge IGCSEs, it’s important to stay informed about recent syllabus updates and exam changes rolling out for 2025 and 2026.
Here are the key highlights:
✅ Syllabus Code Changes
Some subjects now have new syllabus codes effective from 2025–2026, including:
Business Studies: 0450 → 0264 (International)
(9–1) Business Studies: 0986 → 0774
Literature in Spanish and other languages also updated
📄 Assessment Format Adjustments
English Language (0990 & 0524) has undergone a structural update:
Paper 1: Reading, Paper 2: Writing
Longer texts, integrated skills, and 2-hour durations for each paper
💻 Digital Exams Begin June 2026
Cambridge is introducing digital versions of select IGCSE exams. The content remains the same, but the format will shift. Students must prepare for this delivery method if applicable.
📚 Minimal Content Changes
Subjects such as:
Mathematics (0580)
Geography (0976)
Physics, Chemistry, Biology (0625, 0620, 0610)
ICT (0417)
Accounting (0452) & Economics (0455)
…remain largely unchanged in terms of syllabus content. Current resources and textbooks remain relevant.

✅ Familiarize with the new English paper structure
✅ Prepare for digital exam options where applicable
✅ Continue using current textbooks unless advised otherwise
